Empathy - the action of understanding, being aware of, being sensitive to, and vicariously experiencing the feelings, thoughts, and experience of another of either the past or present without having the feelings, thoughts, and experience fully communicated in an objectively explicit manner

Are you an empath? Do you take the word in its esoteric/supernatural meaning or the official dictionary one? This is a tricky question for many believing people. In many cases, the line between the supernatural implications of “feeling” somebody’s feelings and influencing them and the profound emotional aspect of the notion are interconnected and working together. Other people don’t believe in the concept at all. Or consider themselves non-empathetic.
True, some people are more inclined to empathy than others. They are usually gentle people who understand others well. However, I’m not saying that people with low empathy are not gentle; it’s just the percentage is lower.

About Empathy Quiz
Scientists have distinguished three types of empathy:
- cognitive
- emotional
- compassionate
These are the types set by renowned psychologists Daniel Goleman and Paul Ekman. It distinguishes between various aspects of our emotional state, perception, and reflectory responses. However, it’s a gigantic task to label a person as inclined to only one of these. Usually, it’s a combination of all the types into one healthy emotional state.
Thus, we’ll leave the professional analysis to the experts, obviously, and will just have a bit of fun to determine whether you are an empathic person or not generally!
